Get your business ready to import/export from the EU/UK or UK/EC after Brexit
As we are fast approaching our anticipated deadline for Brexit on 31st October 2019 now extended up-to 31st January 2020, we wanted to bring to your attention that due to the change on import and export regulations, companies will need to make changes to the way that they process their orders.
What you need to do now to make sure you’re able to transport goods from the EU, if the UK leaves the EU. What you need to do differently if you export goods
Non document goods such as mobile phones, computers, personal items, samples, clothing, toys etc. (list not exhaustive) will all now require an Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI) number starting with GB to be transported.
Make sure your business has an EORI number that starts with GB
To apply for an EORI number go to – eori@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
It takes 5 to 10 minutes to apply for an EORI number. You’ll get it either straight away or within 5 working days (if HMRC needs to make more checks)
What you need to know
You can check the status of an application you have already made.
You may have to wait 48 hours to use your EORI number for customs declarations in the Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) system.
Once you have registered for your application please forward the details to Onflight so that we can update your record accordingly.
We are here to help, so please, do not delay to register for your EORI number as we will not be in a position to move your goods forward to your required destination.
